Mario has coauthored the Project of Code Human Rights of Republic of Colombia and she presented project for the establishment of the Ministry of Human Rights in Colombia


Mario is a lawyer and a human rights defender who graduated from the Nueva Granada Military University with studies in human rights and international human rights, Security and Police Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, International Women’s Health and Human Rights ( Stanford University), Children’s Human Rights (University de Genève), Course on the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights (Washington College of the Law), International Law in Action: Investigating and prosecuting International Crimes (Universitei Leiden), Understanding Violence (Emory University), Human Rights (Universite De Genève), Indigenous Canada (University of Alberta), Understanding Terrorism and the Terrorist Theatre (University o Maryland),  Security & Safety challenges in a globalized world (Universitei Leiden), Human Rights – Refugees people rights ( Amnesty International), Terrorism and Counterterrorism (Universityie Leiden), International Law in action – International Courts and Tribunals in The Hague (Universitei Leiden), Corruption (Wharthon Universty), Humanitarian communication (University of Geneva).

Mario has a distinguished record of human rights advocacy in Canada and overseas and he now works on defending the human rights of thousands of others who are victims of persecution and human rights violations around the world.

His outstanding service has been widely recognized. Some of his awards include: Ten most influential Canadian Hispanic 2008;  Top 25 Canadian Immigrant 2009; Twelve Outstanding Canadian Citizen Award Canada’s Citizenship Award 2010; The Mentor Award of Excellence in 2010; New Pioneers Award Community Service 2011; Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal 2013; A humanitarian, devoted to tolerance and compassion with a true  understanding of community spirit that help with his efforts on behalf of immigrants and victims of human rights violations Mario received recognitions in the International, Federal , Provincial and Municipal Level for;  Volunteer Service Awards 5, 10 years; Recognition Navy League Of Canada and others international; recognitions as human rights defender and social and communitarian worker; The Governor General’s Carin Canadian Award.

Prior to founding the Canadian Human Rights International Organization (CHRIO) in 2003, Mario worked

for the Foundation Humanistic as Human Rights Program Director. He also founded and worked Casa de

las Americas, CARI, as chair president and he is a founder of Collective Human Rights Defenders “Laura Acosta” International Organization COHURIDELA, also work at Canadian United Hands International Organization CUHIO. Mario has coauthored the Project of Code Human Rights of Republic of Colombia and she presented project for the establishment of the Ministry of Human Rights in Colombia – his motherland. He is currently a placement Supervisor for Student of university and colleges and work in partnerships and teaching and all time learning. Also human rights defender is his passion.

IN COHURIDELA and CHRIO Mario Guilombo leads a large group of human rights defenders around the world.
